HSBC Debit Card

Hi all,

I am a bit confused about where to add my HSBC debit card, this is my only bank account but I do not know whether I need to add it to the "bank account" section or the "debit card" section - I currently have it on both, and I am able to pay things through it however I am unsure if I can withdraw the balance. 

I also need to verify my debit card with the four digit code, but this is not showing on my statements and I have been waiting weeks.

So, I was just wondering whether I am able to withdraw the money already or if not, how I can get hold of the four digit code so I can complete the setup? (if required)

Hi Moshingzombies, 

Thanks you for posting in our Community. I will do my best to answer your questions. 

If you have a debit card from HSBC you can add this as a card. If  this card is l inked to a bank account you also have the option to add that bank account to your PayPal account. When you make a payment you can choose which funding source you want to use but it will both be taken from the same bank account in the end so it does not really matter :). 

If you have added the bank account you are able to withdraw money that you have received on your PayPal balance. You can click on the withdraw option and follow the steps and this will send any balance that you have on your PayPal account to your bank. 

If you have requested the confirmation code but have not received it I would advise to remove and to add your card again. When you add the card we will resend the code to you and you can use the second code to confirm your card. 

So in short: Yes you can withdraw money and remove and add the card and we will resend the code to you.

I've received a couple of codes on my HSBC statement and both of them were rejected by paypal, so I think there is 1 more code coming soon and I'm sure that one will not be accepted because paypal is now asking me to link a card to get verified again ! I wander should I do it again and again until my money run out from my bank account ? When will the charge of £1 be refunded?
