PayPal Fees more than 3.4%

I have consistently been charged more than 3.4% for fees.... In fact it is around 5% and over... Also is there additional fees for international sales (via ebay).? I also had to refund someone and I don't think PayPal refunded me the fees they took when the sale went through... How do I get that back? Fed up with this money grabbing service.

Paypal fees in the UK are 3.4% + 20p per transaction.

International sales are higher as you pay a cross border fee as well.

When you refund someone your 3.4% fee is refunded but paypal keep the 20p as a fee for processing the buyers payment and the refund for you.

I did not receive my fee back. I received £551 but after fees I only got £521... Fee of £30..... Then I refunded £551... No sign of this £30. The really annoying thing is that the buyer changed his mind and sent the money back via PayPal after so I've paid so many fees :'(

When you use the refund option then you refund the full amount but that is made up of the amount you RECEIVED plus the fee paypal took out so the buyer gets the total.

You don't get the £30 as that goes back to the buyer as part of their refund.
