why is the paypal website so unhelpful?

For a company with such a fantastic product, am I alone in thinking that the website, help and demos are really unhelpful.

I wanted somewhere that I could complain about the website to paypal and let them know my opinions. they did send me a survey recently. but I couldnt find anywhere.

Even the "contact us" link at the bottom of my page is a broken link.

The links to the community at https://www.paypal-talk.co.uk/community/ doesnt work

I was interested in "log in with paypal" authentication service.

I found the page (hurrah) I found the link to the demo (hurrah) but the demo https://lipp.ebaystratus.com/loginwithpaypal-live/ doesnt mention "log in with paypal" at all

When I came to this forum, I wanted to dutifully read the "read this before posting" document but its a broken link [frustrating]

I have many many questions about paypal services and products but I seem to go round and round in circles without ever finding what I want.

I wanted to edit one of the paypal buttons I created, but I could only find a "create button" button. Finally I realised that "create button" actually means "view your existing buttons", come on ?

I wanted to know about variable recurring payments, you know, bill a customer's credit card monthly but a different amount every month. Hours of fruitless searching.

Dont paypal want me to find out about their products and how to use them?

Why cant the website be as good as the product?

I know that the final icing on the cake is when some forum moderator pops up and tells me that I've posted this in the wrong place, or that my posting is inappropriate. Well you know what? I dont care. I've spent so long lookinfg for somewhere "appropriate" to post this, I'm past caring.

regards

Chris

Unfortunately complaining here is kind of moot point - this is a member to member help group.   Many of us are online business owners who have used PayPal for years, volunteer our time and can help with lots of things - except complaining is not one of them.

If you want to lean about how to create an item button, there is good documenation available.

For example, start with the information on this page:

https://developer.paypal.com/webapps/developer/docs/classic/paypal-payments-standard/integration-gui...

And here's the best User Guide ever as it covers most everything:

https://www.paypalobjects.com/webstatic/en_US/developer/docs/pdf/pp_websitepaymentsstandard_integrat...

Also some good stuff here:

https://www.paypalobjects.com/webstatic/en_US/developer/docs/pdf/pp_merchantsetupadministrationguide...
