Hi i am new to ebay, i have bought a few items, but last week i sold a few items for the first time, everything has gone smoothly apart for one item, which i received payment for, but i received a email from paypal to say the the buyer had not given permission for the monies to be taken from their account and is showing as held and is been looked at by paypal, that was on the 11th i immediately contacted paypal i have received no reply.  i have since contacted the buyer and they are as confused as i am because they just used their paypal account as normal .

I thought this would be because i am a new seller but i sold 5 more items and all their monies have gone through although not released to me yet.

Any ideas what i should do, i have emailed paypal again but as of yet no response

Hi there Stubbsie,

There are a few possible reasons as to why the payment may have been placed on hold on your account. The payment may have been detected by our internal security system as it presented a potentially high risk or the payment could have been placed on hold as you are a new seller on eBay.

Can you see an open case on the Resolution Centre on your account? If you can, you would be asked for a response through your account on this. We would then investigate it for you and contact you via email with an update on the status of our investigation.

If you would like any more information in regards to this, you can try to contact customer services directly by clicking the Contact Us icon at the bottom of any PayPal webpage.

I hope this helps,

David.
