I gave my paypal email id to a business when I was speaking with them. I am concerned now. Should I close my paypal account?

Your PayPal email ID is typically the Email Address you use to sign-in to PayPal. You can give that to anyone who wants to send you a PayPal payment. No worries.
Now, if you gave them your PayPal Password, then they can take control of your account. If you can still login, then change your password immediately.

I wouldn't worry. the address by itself isn't dangerous.
To make your Paypal account bullet-proof, however, visit the security center in your Paypal account and buy one of their security keys for $5. It puts a separate, randomly-generated numerical password on your account that changes every 30 seconds and cannot be hijacked, even if a scammer has your password.
