MAC SHIPPING LABEL SOLUTION?

I'm running a Mac OS 10.6.2 I would like to find out if anyone's come up with Label printing solution (4x6) for shipping labels.

I tried the Dymo LabelWriter 450 Turbo on the Mac and no luck (it was printing portrait. no adjustments could be made)

is there a specific printer that would work with paypal shipping? (small volume less than 25/day)

Does anyone know if the Zebra 2844 would work on Mac Snow Leopard? any place to get the drivers?

Thank you!

I'm also running Mac OS X 10.6.2. I was able to find out that OS X has built-in support for my Zebra LP2844 label printer, but PayPal blocks it!! (use Zebra EPL2 as the driver)

I set up the printer and ran a test print. It prints fine on my Mac (4x5), though I have to select paper size 4x6 on the print preview page for anything else I attempt to print. A side note: I have my Zebra set up on my Network using my TimeCapsule!

Every time I attempted to use it with USPS on PayPal, a message pops up saying "Label printer support is not available for Macintosh computers." I've even tried making Safari "appear" as Internet Explorer 8 for Windows and FireFox 3.5 for Windows, and it still blocks it.

It IS possible to use label printers to print USPS shipping labels on a Mac. Endicia.com for Mac has built-in support, but I don't sell enough to justify spending $15.95 per month.

It seems eBay and PayPal (same company) make it as difficult as possible for Mac users to list and ship items.

The only other option I've found is to install Windows on BootCamp or one of the 3rd party programs and run PayPal Shipping through Windows.

At least I was able to find a good listing program to list my auctions on my Mac. http://www.iwascoding.com/GarageSale Smiley Very Happy

UPDATE: I found a solution that works! I had my post office scan it, and the scan was accepted! This was completed with Snow Leopard (10.6.2) and a Zebra LP2844 label printer.

This should work for USPS and UPS shipping!

When you purchase your label and the print screen comes up, click Print.

When the Print Dialogue box opens, at the bottom left where it has "PDF", click on it. Select Open in Preview > File > Take Screen Shot > From Selection > drag over to highlight just the label with border. File > Print > Select Label Printer > Select Paper Size (4x6) > Make sure Auto Rotate is checked > Print

The label comes out a little fuzzy, but the scanner at my post office was able to scan it.

It takes a few extra steps to complete, but this is the best work-around I've found so far.

PayPal and eBay need to stop discriminating Mac OS X! OS X is every bit as capable (if not MORE capable) of doing eBay as Windows!

If you are applying your own postage then use sendIT from Brinscall Software - www brinscall com

It allows you to ship media mail, library mail, first class mail, priority mail, express mail and even international mail all with our without delivery/signature confirmation! You still get the discounted and free electronic confirmation rates that PayPal and eBay shipping offer - but you need to apply your own postage, which may or may not be a problem for you.

It has lots of features. Really worth a look.

You may want to take a look at nrgship mac which provides ups shipping features similar to endicia - it has full support for thermal printers and digital scales.
