I received a payment and got an email saying that it was recieved in my paypal. Then got another email saying it was returned. I'd like to receive the money but I'm not sure if this was a problem with my paypal settings? Is there a way to enable recieved payments or is this automatic.

Same thing happened to me on the last two payments I received from customers.  Said money was returend because it wasn't claimed.  What the heck?

If the payment was sent to an email address that is not registered then the sender can cancel it from the transaction details otherwise, if the transaction remains unclaimed for 30 days, it will be returned to the sender.

I have had an account with Paypal for 6 years, received payments at the same address for all of those years.  Why would it change now?  I am losing money, having payments returned.  I tried to get help, but customer service for paypal is non existent.  I am close to quitting all together and trying something else.  I can't afford to keep losing money.

Update.  There is an option to be notified if an address is not confirmed.  I missed the email, so the payment was later returned.    To change that option, go to selling preferences, under profile, then payment receiving preferences.

Block Payments for the items not sold on eBay from U.S. users who do not provide a confirmed address:
 Yes
 No

I am wondering how many payments I have missed this way.

I did receive customer service help today, not a bad experience.  Courtious and helpful.
