I'm trying to pay for something on a merchant site with paypal paylater, and the merchant site does accept the paylater option and gives me a confirmation of purchase, but then the order is placed on hold because it couldn't be authorized by Paypal. I tried to call customer service but all they said was "you can't make an order on paylater because you have a zero account balance" but isn't this just saying I don't owe anything on my paylater card at the moment? Or, why would I need the full amount in my normal paypal account if the whole point is that I'm using the "pay LATER" option?
I'm lost on this one as well...I tried to make a 'Buy it Now' purchase on Ebay and it kept telling me the transaction could not go through. My account balance for PayPal Later shows as $0 but I can't even find anything telling me what my account LIMIT is. I used PayPal Later about 3 weeks ago and it went through fine, but suddenly it says I don't have the funds for the transaction. Which begs the question, as the person who started this post noted - why should that matter, as that's the reason I'm using PayPal Later and not my PayPal account!! If anybody knows what's up with this I'd very much like to know too.
I have the opposite problem of purchases going to pay later without my selecting. OMG! I never saw the terms and when I tried to pay with my credit card, I had to expose my bank info to pay for it and even that I'm not sure of. The default payment date is xx/xx/1970!!!
I'm getting this off my back immediately and I'll never use the regular paypal account again for fear of this happening over and over. I'll just have to **bleep** it up without ebay. Maybe there's a way to cancel paypal pay later without destroying my credit rating.
Now I'm truly frightened! I did the deposit thing for PayPal and tried to pay the balance but PayPal wouldn't let me, telling me that the amount was more than was owed! I tried to pay the minimum and got the same message. I transferred the exact amount from my bank (scary) account and will try to pay again when the transfer is done.
Trust me, I will never again use PayPal! The risk is just too great. I can only hope that only PayPal Pay Later will require cash payments.
i haven't tried yet but hopefully it will work. paypal later used to work just fine till recently. do you know how to chage my default method of payment away from paypal later?
