in store pick up option

I'd like to offer my customers the ability to select in store pick up to avoid shipping if they are local, but still charge shipping to people who want their stuff shipped... I can't get it to work.   If I try to set up instore pickup as an option for my state, it just gives everyone free shipping if they enter a zip code within the state.  Is this possible w/paypal?

At the present time the Zip Code has nothing to do with shipping calculations, it is ONLY used to calculate the Sales Tax.   It allows you to drill down to different tax rates by Zip code.

To do what  you have in mind, you have two options.  You can setup two shipping methods in your Account Profile, one for the pick-up and another for standard.  In the pick-up you would only include your state, in the standard, you include your all the other states including your state.

Your other option would be to use the shipping overide variables in your item button code and allow your buyer to select either regular shipping or pick-up.   You can find lots of coding examples and tips here.

I too would like to add an option at check to PICK UP PRODUCT.  Sure seems like there should be a way to have this as a second shipping option when checking out.  I would even go for entering a code somewhere.
