I can't "Get verified" my credit card

I live in Romania, and I have a Visa -electron card from Banca Transilvania. I get to  get verified my card. I get this message:

"We were unable to verify this card. Please review and make sure that the information you entered is correct. If the problem persists, please enter a different card."

Why?

Unfortunately no one here can view user account info, suggest contacting customer support direct for assistance.  Ensure that the information (name, etc.) registered with the card is the same information you used to setup your PayPal Account.

Hi dundyvega,

Welcome to the Community Forum! As snowshoe has said, the best thing to do in this case would be to contact Customer Support directly, although it does sound like your card is being declined for usage on PayPal by your issuing bank, so you may also want to contact them directly and ask to speak with someone who deals with online payments.

To find our contact details, just click on 'Contact us' when logged in 🙂

Thanks!

Sophie

What telephone number do we need to call to verify the credit card ? I went to the bank, and they were puzzled and amazed that Paypal doesn't accept their credit card, and gave me a code that was used previously to verify the former card, which now is expired, which I believe is all the real problem, or it is because the account was previously to my father's name, from way back when we started to make purchases, even though the previous credit card was on my name !

Btw, I tried several times to get in contact through e-mail, and asked to be called, but feel like I'm screaming in the dessert !

Hi Vanspaskel,

First of all welcome to our community.

I am happy that you posted here and I would like to apologize that you did not get a response from us by email.

From the information that I have I think that you are having trouble with the confirmation of the card due to the name. I understand that the PayPal account is on your dads name, but the card is on your name, correct?

I would advise to open a new account on your own name, all financials that are added to a PayPal account must be in the same name as the account holder. If the names do not match this can cause issues with confirming a card or bank account.

If you need a m ore personal answer I would advise you to either call us or to contact us on Twitter or ion Facebook. We can help you there with more personal details :).

I hope this information helps.

Dian

I am also facing this problem I am unable to verify my debit card (master card). I tried number of times to add but every time I got an error that "we were unable to verify your card" and mean while a little (but a temporary) charge appears on my card (pending authorizations) of $1.00 instead of $1.95. I contact the card authorties but they said the problem is on paypal side. What is the problem? Please help.
