Problems with logging in with Skype

Dear Ladies or Gents,

today I experienced some problems while trying to pay for my Skype account via PayPal. The problem differs a bit from those which were posted by fellow Skype users. The whole thing started with a message that I cancelled my automathic paying for the telephone calls, and when I tried to log in to PayPal by typing my email address and password, I got the following message: "Payment not completed". I tried the same procedure on my browser as well (even after cleaning all cookies as it was advised before); the latest experience was that PayPal was not recognising my email, and asked for my bank and account numbers. I've typed them in, while the system recognised them as they are already assigned to my user account.

Two additional remarks: I was paying for Skype for a few weeks with Paypal, and I could log in for the PayPal account normally; I even paid with it today on eBay.
The latest "solution" was that I paid with a money transfer solution, using my same bank account; that proves that the connection to my bank is valid and there was sufficient money on my account.

Do you have any ideas what could have happened?
Best regards,

Balázs

Hi Balazs,

This sounds very strange to be honest Smiley Surprised.

From what you have advised, was there a subscription/recurring service in place on your PayPal account with Skype? If so, this may have failed recently due to a few possible reasons. One of them being that you had a credit/debit card linked to the subscription as the funding option and this card may have recently expired. If this has happened, it would cancel all subscriptions with companies that are linked with that particular card.

This would also be why you are able to make payments for other items through your account. My best advice would be to check your funding options on your PayPal account and also check to see if any of your cards have expired recently. If so, then you should be able to reactivate the subscription with Skype and this should work as normal for you.

I hope this helps,

David.
