Problems with verification of credit card

My account went into negative. In order to restore the balance I click on resolve balance and it offers me to add funds through the credit card that is already registered through PayPal. When I try to confirm this PayPal renders error saying the following: "This transaction failed because we were unable to verify this credit card through our card validation process. In order to proceed with your transaction, please select a different funding method or add a different credit card".

 

I don't have another card and I don't know what to do. Thought perhaps the PayPal community can help me.

Hi Zhala,

 

It sounds to me that your card is being refused when you are trying to process a payment to restore your negative balance on your PayPal account. You should check the information on your card to ensure that the expiry date and the CVV2 number are correct.

 

To check the information is correct, please follow these steps:

 

  1. Log in to your PayPal account.
  2. Click 'Profile' near the top of the page.
  3. Click the 'Credit/Debit Cards' link in the 'Financial Information' column.
  4. Click the 'Edit' link next to the card you wish to update.
  5. Enter the updated information and click 'Save'.

If you are still unable to make the payment to resolve your balance, please let us know and we can investigate your issue further and contact you offline.

i am getting the same problem i have been useing the same pay pal with debit card i have funds in account rang my bank they say no problem there i mean i do get a bit excited on ebay and want to buy all my dare i say it christmas gifts in one day and then save a bit more and do it all again may be that is a problem is there any help out there

Hi there 02380jenni,

 

It sounds like it is your card issuer denying your transaction. I would suggest that you contact your bank again. This time ask to speak to the online authorisation department at your issuing bank as they are able to see any online denials. Sometimes your card issuer will deny a transaction it is different from your normal transaction activity.

Hi,

 

Need your expertise on paypal, I'm trying to get verified my card and when im trying to confirm my card there's an error message again pop up "The Card Verification System used by paypal is currently unavailable. Please try to add your card at a later time. We apologize for this incovenience". could you help me with this?when is the system will up and when is the best time to confirm card. i have a new ebay account and im trying to get verified,every time i try to add bank account it just says sorry an error occured but no explanation,ive tried 2 different accounts many times but no luck,ive tried ringing paypal but cant get to speak to anyone,when i go through the voice options,i get through to the bit where i say need to add bank account but as soon as i say the word add the phone cuts off ive rang about 20 times and the same thing keeps happenning ,can you help

Hi fastmotorcycles,

 

Have you tried logging in to your PayPal account using a different browser as this can sometimes help. Also I would recommend that you clear cookies and cache on computer. 

 

Depending on which browser you use, this can be done under 'Options,' 'Preferences,' or 'Tools'. Because deleting your cache and cookies relates to your web browser software and not PayPal, see your browser's online help section for further information.
