Hi Everyone,
i changed my phone number and i decided to add the new one to Paypal and remove the old one.
I went to the security option, removed the 2 step Authentication from the old number and i wanted to add the new one.

But there's no option for SMS, i have just authenticator app or code. Is there any way to add again the authentication via SMS ?

Thank you

Yes, that is why I came to this forum for help as well.   The 2FA setup process is a hot mess.  Where is the simple option for receiving a code on my phone when logging in?  I don't want to install additional "authenticator" apps, nor do I want to deal with keys.  Bring back the code sent via SMS!

Yeah, I am pretty sure I fell victim to a phishing scam using my paypal to buy something. I was surprised 2-factor was shut off on my account as I go through all of my security on my bank, paypal, and any other accounts. Really bummed they want me to download an app when I am trying to use Paypal on my computer. This doesn't make sense...so my account is at risk if I don't want to use my phone? Are people in tech this blind to real-world people? Who is in their phone that much where they think everything needs an app? So send me some texts or emails for code.

Yes please!! A text is so much faster than an authenticator app.
