Issue with adding number to login into my account. HELP!

I'm trying to log into my account, but when I do I have to confirm my phone number. When I try to add my number it doesn't fit and erases the first number so I can't receive my verification. It is a Japanese number. Country code is correct.  What am I supposed to do now?

You can't add a Japanese number to a U.S registered personal account which is what you are posting with.

Have you opened a U.S paypal account instead of a Japanese one?

I used a different browser and it worked. 
My account is from the US as well as the bank account I use for it. My address has been a Japanese one for over a decade now without issue.

Not sure how you are getting away with it then as normally you can't add an international address to a paypal country specific account.

Read the link and be careful as you may be hit with a limitation at some point.
