So I'm interested in undertaking doing art commissions publicly online, and also potentially setting up a little shop on sites like Etsy for selling my own designed keyrings, acrylic stands, etc. I haven't gotten around to doing any of this sort of stuff outside of just friends and family once or twice, as I currently only have my personal PayPal which displays my legal name.
I was interested in creating a business account mainly to take payments under a pseudonym. However, as I don't have any business set up yet, and the page asks for a "legal business name", would I not be eligible to create one? I also don't have a business bank account (yet, am interested in setting one up, but not sure if eligible or even worth the hassle), and only have the account tied to my current personal PayPal account.
I guess for additional context, I don't expect large earnings nor to make commissions/shop stuff my full-time job. I work currently and would more or less like to do this on the side just for a tiny bit of extra financial security (and wish fulfilment lol, having physical merch of my own designs would be dream come true😇). My main reasons are that I do not want my legal name plastered on the payments potential customers make, which may lead to a risk for my safety. Thanks for any help!
