Hi, I accidentally created a business account, closed it, and created a new personal one. However, it still appears as a business account, and fees were deducted when I received money. Can you please help me resolve this issue and ensure my account is correctly set as personal? Thank you!

You pay fees to receive payments for goods/services regardless of your account 'type'.

There is no automatic way to downgrade a business account to a personal account, you have to contact customer services and they will do that for you.

Contact options for each countries Paypal customer services are accessed by clicking help/contact bottom left of Paypal pages.

1. Paypal phones (you can use the guest option if you can't log in).
2. Live chat is also randomly available.
3. You can send them a message, (during business hours you may also be able to message whilst logged out).
4. Have you considered contacting Customer Service via Facebook or Twitter?
You can send them a private direct message via Social Media on Facebook, Twitter/X, or Instagram pages.

Hi @User12312345645 and @kernowlass

Thank you for your posts! Happy New Year's Eve!

Thank you for your awesome assistance as always, @kernowlass! I just want to add the specific handles to use for Social Media Customer Service, to ensure that no one goes to a fraudulent handle that is posing as support. We catch them and report them as fast as we can, but they do crop up and commit fraudulent phishing before we or the platform moderators can act, so it's best to have the direct links.

For Twitter/X, the handle is @AskPayPal. For both Facebook and Instagram, it's @PayPal. (Facebook may route you to a specific region when you land there.) Direct links are embedded above in the prior sentences.

I hope this is helpful!

Olivia
