Cannot close US paypal because I need to prove my US address first (left country 15 years ago)

I want to close my US paypal account because I don’t live there and need to primary email for tbe UK paypal. To close account, I am asked to solve limitations first, e.g. to prove my IS address and to confirm my US bank account. Obviously, I dont have any US cards and didnt live there since 2007. Customer service is useless - they just told me to create a new email. I need my primary email for my activities. I just want to close my US paypal. Thank you for listening and I hope I can resolve this vicious circle

Paypal is country specific so if you move countries you have to open another paypal account in the country you reside in and add an address / phone number / bank accounts / cards from within that country.

You should really withdraw any funds / resolve issues / remove cards and bank accounts / cancel any subscriptions and close the old Paypal account before you move countries. If you don't then you may have problems doing so once you have moved and may need to contact customer services for help to resolve things.

You can however in most countries add a U.S bank account (not card) to your paypal account. This is because paypal is a U.S company and allows that option for U.S Paypal account holders working in other countries.
