Is PayPal really willing to help when you lose your telephone number?

There are obviously dozens of people locked out of their accounts because they have lost access to their registered number.  Going round in circles, being unable to log in and receive a code on a no longer functioning phone is no solution.

Turning to the PayPal community and being awarded four badges for asking your question rather than receiving help is just insulting.

I am 83 years old and find difficulty hearing and using a phone and I gather no one else can contact PayPal on my behalf.

I realise there must be tight security, but if it becomes impossible to operate your account it becomes excessive.

What needs to be done?  Chat should be available or an email address which can be accessed without logging in. Or for a change of telephone number, there should be a link where this new telephone number can be entered and PayPal can ring it to check its authenticity and then go through security questions and register the new number.

It is so frustrating!!!

ok, I post the link as it helps a lot of folks, if it doesn't help you then you are welcome to ask for more advice which I can give you. However as you think my advice does not help you then I won't waste anymore of my time trying to help you.
