Password reset - but phone number has changed

My son tries to login to his paypal account.

The login process requires him to change his password, so he gets an email with a verification code.

He types in the verification code.  Now the login system sends him an sms message for .. but the phone number isn't his anymore - we have switched countries & phonenumbers by now.

So is the account now dead forever?

article to understand the process on how to login into your PayPal account when you have changed your phone number. You can also reach out to our customer support team to know what can be done next or to get an understanding of the possible solution to the issue raised. Please reach out to the Support Team by clicking the contact us option at the bottom of PayPal page. If your unable to login into your PayPal account do reach us via phone and kindly select "Call us as Guest".

I got the same problem and it's funny that you refer to the support - because I can't contact ANYBODY without typing in that stup** Code, that I can't get because I DON'T HAVE THAT NUMBER ANY MORE! I'm totally p***ed so can somebody REALLY help?? The support is a total disaster!!!
