Phone number not active to log in

I've moved to a different country 3 years ago and since then I changed my number. I'm now in a third different country trying to access my account but I see that I'm unable to unless I receive a text to a phone number that's linked to the account. The same number that's been inactive for at least 3 years. But I also can't contact support without logging in. But I can't log in without the number. I am also no longer able to just email PayPal support. The account was created in Croatia so I specifically need to contact Croatian PayPal support. How am I meant to do that if I can't log in due to the number issue? I'm losing my mind at this point.

Same problem here.. check the suggested email address I mention below.. Maybe if we all send an email there we finally get something..

I created my paypal account several years ago and I didn't access it for the last several years as well.. Back then I used some bank account or card that should no longer exist.. probably one time card generated by my bank. The card obviously expired many years ago..

Yesterday I wanted to login to check if everything is fine with a refund I was supposed to receive. The problem was that during the login process it asks to send me a verification code to a number.. This number does not belong to me for several years and also is a landline which means I would have no way to "see on the screen" the code paypal is trying to send me.

After contacting today Paypal support via phone they suggested that the only way to get back the access to my account is the following:

  • Create a new account..
  • Send an email to the address europeanservices[at]paypal.com from my email account that I used to create my paypal account in question.
  • Ask for transfer the old account to the new account
  • Request deletion of the old account

The issue now is that Paypal answers to my inbox.. which is the original problem that I cannot login there.

I am going to spam and call them until someone answers I guess..
