I have been having a nightmare for months with Paypal. First, Revolut mislabelled a Paypal payment for Uber as a KLM Airlines transaction, which I obviously didn't recognise. I queried the transaction, resulting in the virtual card it was charged against being immediately cancelled. The payment details were then clarified (Uber, not KLM Airlines) so I confirmed it was a legitimate payment. Revolut have confirmed that the payment query has been closed from their end, but it remains open on Paypal.
Paypal immediately restricted my account and are requiring me to confirm the card the queried payment was against by either:
a) Providing a 'credit card statement' for the card (impossible, as it was a virtual debit card, and no card-specific statement is available - and even if it was, the card has already been irrevocably deleted by the issuer); or
b) Approving a payment against the card to verify it with a code (again, impossible, because the card was deleted by the issuer).
I have tried every conceivable way of querying this, and trying any other method of resolving the restricted account, including emailing any email address I could find for Paypal. I have had zero response, and am incredibly frustrated. Can anyone offer any advice on what I can do? The terrible customer support and obstacles to communicating with anyone are frankly shocking.
