I’m trying to find out what the red caution sign means

I’ve got that too, haven’t a clue what it means either, mine is over my debit card.

I understand how concerning to see the red sign in your PayPal account. It's possible that you haven't completed the steps to complete your profile and the indicator near the debit card means that the confirmation process is yet to be done. You can find the steps of confirming your card in PayPal here.
