Hi
A customer has just paid an invoice then cancelled it.
I've called him and he said he's got proof that the money has left his account, which I believe, as I can see it in my PayPal account too but by cancelling it straightaway, does this mean he'll be refunded?
Thanks

Do you see a separate transaction for payment in your account activity and it is marked canceled? If so, then yes the payment will be canceled and once the funds clear, it'll be directed back to the sender's account. You should be able to see further details by clicking on the payment transaction, not the invoice.
Some individuals may mark an invoice canceled if they didn't pay through the actual invoice itself and sent a PayPal payment. Beware of scams as fraudsters do abuse certain account functions to trick recipients into thinking payment has been sent so they'd ship out goods without actually receiving payment.
Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂
