Change/remove phone number on customer statements

When someone makes a purchase, their statements show something like:
VISA CHECK BUSINES NAME 123-456-7890 NEUS
I believe that the phone number is the customer service number in our profile. Do we change that number by updating our customer service number? Also, we have many offices so we have many local customer service numbers. Is it possible to remove the number from the statement? It creates confusion among our customers since we have many different servicing offices. Thanks.

Hi Bkaz!
The phone number that is on the buyers statement would be the PayPal number unless you have the Website Payments Pro or Virtual Terminal features. For those situations, it would be the phone number listed as your customer service phone number. This is to help avoid chargebacks. You can not change the phone number based on the location of the payment, but you can change the phone number from within your PayPal account.
To change this number, you would log into your PayPal account and click on profile at the top of the page. You would then click on Business Information and Edit at the bottom of the page. Once you click on edit you can edit your business information, including the phone number you would like to appear on your buyers credit card statements. After you have updated all the information you would like to update, click Save. 🙂 This will save any changes!
I hope this information is helpful!
Toodles,
Kate

HI Kate, could you show me how to amend the merchant contact information after a customer has made a payment because it is showing my old email address. I have made the correct one my primary email but has had no affect, still showing the old email.
I tried going into business information and edit but cant see email or phone number option.
I am using website standard.
Thanks Kev

Hi RefrigSpares,
the email address your buyers will see is the email address that the payment was directed towards. For example, If you have test@test.com in your HTML button or auction, but you have test123@test.com as your primary email address, the buyers will continue to see test@test.com since that is the email address in your PayPal button or eBay auction. You can change this information by editing your saved buttons or by deleting your button and creating a new button with your new primary email address.
I hope this helps!
Toodles,
Kate
