I dont know if i want merchant gift certificates. What i want to do is beable to have people purchase the gift certificate on our website and then print it off and bring it into the store and use it on an item. I do not sell any products online.
One option, you could a customized Buy Now button and PayPal's IPN Feature. This method does require additional programming skills. After the payment is processed, PayPal posts the transaction details to your IPN script. At this point, you could have your IPN script either send out an email with the gift certificate as an attachment, or an email that has a link to a secure page where the gift certificate can be downloaded from.
Creating a merchant gift card isn't the same as creating a gift card to send to someone as a "gift" is it? It looked to me like you have to be a "merchant" and offer it on your website for people to purchase. Is that right?
Is there any way to give someone a Pay Pal Gift Card to use to pay for anything they want? Or somehow have your "gift card" credited to someone's account? Cuz I would like to do this for someone, but I don't want it to have to be for "ebay" or anyone specific.
