Credit card statement name

Customize the name that will appear on your customers' credit card statements. This might reduce chargebacks, because your buyers will be more likely to recognize your business name.
Edit
When I go to edit these settings, and click save I get sent to an error screen. Actually I get sent to an error screen on quite a few of the options when attempting to setup and configure invoices.
Is there something wrong on the PayPal end or should I not be using Chrome for this? I've logged in/out about a dozen times now.

Hello jpwalsh,

Welcome to the Community Robot wink.

I am sorry you are getting an error when you try to change your credit card statement name. I would first recommend clearing your cache and cookies from your Internet browser and re-start your computer (if you have not already done so). If that does not work, then try the step-by-step instructions below.

Here's how to set up your extended credit card name:

  1. Log in to your PayPal account.
  2. Click “Profile” near the top of the page.
  3. Click “Payment receiving preferences.” under “Security and risk settings.”
  4. Enter your business name as you want it to appear on your customers' credit card statements in the "Extended Credit Card Statement Name" field.
  5. Click “Save.”

If you are using the Virtual Terminal to process your payments the name can be extended to19 alpha-numeric characters in length, including spaces and cannot contain special characters such as &, #, or _. The Credit Card Statement name and Extended Statement Name is printed in ALL CAPS on statements and might be truncated by some credit card processor.

I hope this helps.

~Misty
