Merchant Note Column -

As a PayPal merchant I wonder how many other people get payments through Paypal that do not require shipment but is used to pay a deposit for services etc?  My suggestion is that PayPal allow a notes or details column to let us close out a payment with notes or some type of personal reference number.

For example, I am a photographer and I am shooting a wedding this month.  The client asked if they could send me PayPal and I said yes - well they did it immediately - but I have no place to reference that I received the deposit and that there's a balance due me and it would be very nice to have this information within my PayPal account and attached to the actual payment.

Hello stansterman,

Do understand what you are say and after reading your post I wanted to ask you if you have ever tried sending a PayPal invoice instead of your clients sending you money? When you send an invoice you have the option to fill in a description, terms and conditions, a note a memo to yourself. You can send an invoice by logging into your PayPal account, click on Profile (under My account), click Go to Manage Templates, click Create Invoice, fill it out and send it. Let me know if you know if you have any questions.
