Can PayPal send a verification code to my email address rather than to a U.S. mobile phone number?

I've noticed that when I make a purchase with some online merchants, I need to provide a verification code to prove I'm me and complete the transaction. The transaction screen shows that PayPal wants to send the verification code via SMS to a U.S. mobile phone number. The problem is, I'm not currently in the U.S. and I won't be back for a long time, so I have no access to a U.S. mobile phone number. Can PayPal send the verification codes to my email address instead? If the answer is yes, then how do I arrange to do this, to make sure I receive the verification codes at my email address? What do I need to do? Who do I need to talk to? Thanks.

Hi @trexil,

Thank you for your post! I regret that the authentication that you're being asked to complete by SMS cannot be completed by email.

I am sorry for the inconvenience.

Olivia

Olivia, do you know if there is a reason for that? If not, when can we expect that to be fixed? My VA is making purchases for my company but the codes are sent to my phone. Really slows us down
