Ok, so I have a question about cashing checks through PayPal and the name on the check and my account. When I signed up for PayPal and it asked for my name it only asked for my first and last name, which I thought nothing of because that is all that is on my bank account. BUT, this check I tried cashing does have my middle name on it. And it was denied. The notification I got told me my check was still valid and could still be cashed elsewhere. It also gave examples of why my check was denied, and among them was the name on my check not matching or spelled exactly like it is on my PayPal account. Which brings me to my question, do I need to add my middle name to my paypal account for this? Of all the checks I've cashed in my life there's been a good mix of some with my middle name printed on it, and some without, and never a problem cashing any of them at the bank. Plus if I do add my middle name to paypal wouldn't that just cause more issues for the fact that my middle name isn't on my bank account? Any feedback is much appreciated, thanks in advance.

PayPal is not a bank and they use third parties (Ingo and First Century Bank) to process/approve checks who probably stipulated that names have to match for security. To prevent further hassles, its best you cash checks with your middle name on it, at the bank. Trust this advice. When you start changing your name on PayPal and all that, it will take awhile due to reduced staff handling this stuff due to Covid-19 and changing names can be a PITA in normal circumstances and it will cause issues with withdrawal from PayPal to your bank, like you said.
Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂
