Not receiving the Paypal telephone call to enter on screen OTP

Hi all, I have been going around and around between phoning Paypal and online chats (without logging in) because I cannot login to my account.  I do NOT receive the required Paypal phonecall on my landline (no mobile 'phone) to take my paypal onscreen OTP number.  The people I speak to and chat to all tell me to "try again later" or send me emails to confirm my telephone number, or  say "Ah your phone number is in both Home & Work on your account - that's the problem - I'll cancel the Work number then you can try again".  I also receive paypal phone-back calls when I am in a long queue - BUT nobody seems able to fix the problem.  I use similar phone-back OTP systems with several banks without problems but Paypal's system just does not work for me now.  They used to - I've had this account for many years.  Is anyone else suffering similar proiblems at the moment - I first noticed this last week (Friday 4th December).  Anyone had and solved similar problems.  I've again given up today - I start the merry-go-round again tomorrow - but this is ridiculous.

yes exactly same problem.

on top of which callbacks for UK support put me straight back onto the queue for support to answer, not through to a real person. on top of which I have been on hold now 2hrs waiting for the same thing the old-fashioned way. Guess PP got too big to care about customer support. Had to make a new account (personal) just to login to get this far. No live chat for personal accs it seems, also.

Ok, it has taken a week of back & forwards until my wife mentioned to a Paypal person on yet another call to them that she did NOT have a mobile phone but perhaps (although it was inconvenient) she could give her husbands mobile number. This was eagerly grasped, an email told us our landline number had been removed and suddenly she could log in again. Why do I think Paypal are eager to get rid of landline calls and are deliberately making them difficult - surely that cannot be true - can it?
