Problem updating billing address

Hi -I'm trying to change the billing address for the Visa card I use on PayPal (I've moved). I've updated my Primary address with PayPal, and the Card Issuer has also updated my address, but whenever I try to update the PayPal billing address on the 'Update Card' screen I enter the details and every time get the message:

 

"We're sorry, we're not able to process your request right now. Please try again later."

 

I've looked through similar problems on here but can't find one that covers exactly this or how to solve it, so apologies if it's covered somewhere else, I really can't find it.

 

Also there doesn't seem to be a way of updating my bank account details: the only options you can click on are 'Set as preferred' (which it already is - it's the only one) or 'Remove bank account' - no help at all.

You have to select an address to be the billing address as well as primary address in the address section of the account settings before you can properly select the billing address for a card itself.

As for bank details. Simply update billing address at your bank. No need to change anything in PayPal for banks. It's the same account number and swift/iban/routing or whatever number, right?

Well I've tried going to 'Manage addresses', clicking on the 'Update' link under my old billing address, and get an 'Update address' form with instructions below it which tell me:

 

"This is your billing address for: <card no.>. To change your billing address, go to your Wallet and add a new billing address in the card details. Make sure you've already updated your address with your card provider."

 

This is where I do what it tells me to (exactly what I did before) and get the message given in my original post saying it can't process the request. Should I ignore what it tells me to do? It's kinda self contradictory...


Thanks for the advice about the bank account billing address - yes it's the same account number and sort code, just my address has changed, so I guess I can consider that solved - many thanks.
