Two Step Verification on purchases

Hello,

I have setup a two step verification process which works well when I log into my PayPal account.

It seems to make no difference when I make purchases on line I am never asked by PayPal to verify which was the whole purpose of my needing the two step verification so no one could by-pass me and made purchases unless it was me.

Have I misunderstood the process, should it work or is there a more secure way to verify each and every single purchase with code sent to my phone by PayPal?

Many thanks,  Lanz2154

Hi @Lanza2154,

Welcome to the community forum and thanks for posting.

From what I understand, you are being asked to complete two factor authentication when you are logging into your account. When you are making a payment you should be asked to log in to your account. If this is not happening every time, you may have an agreement with certain sellers to make payments without logging in. If you have this set up you can turn it off from your account. Here's how:

  1. Click on the Menu
  2. Click on the Settings Gear
  3. Click Security
  4. Click the Pencil Icon to the right of "One Touch® for auto login at checkout".
  5. Click Opt out to the right of each device,
  6. When you see Enable, you have successfully disabled One Touch®.

My credit card sends a text message asking me to verify purchases that are above a certain amount or out of the ordinary in some way, like when I'm on vacation and the purchase is out of state. I was hoping to find an option for something like this for the PayPal debit card.
