Unable to reset password

Hello, My friend is suffering since several months to access his account (paypal id:  <removed>) as he forgot password. Whenever he tries to reset password  he gets error message "Sorry, something went wrong on our end. Please try again." .. this is really disappointing .. all he  needs is simple reset password link to be sent to his email: <removed>  .. PLS help asap! NOTE that: mentioned paypal id you should replace (at) with @

You friend must contact customer service for assistance:

Click HELP at the top menu, scroll down to click CONTACT US, and then scroll down to click CALL US, then select PAYPAL GUEST option since he is locked out.

My friend has already tried the CALL US option and it requested his registered mobile number which he forgot as well .. why it is so complicated .. we are just trying to reset password !!!!
