Changing business type

Hi, I'm finishing setting up my account since my business partner left me, but I've hit a road block because it won't allow me to continue setting up the account with a 100% beneficiary, and it won't allow me to change my account type from 'partnership' to a sole trader. Can anyone help with this please?

You might be better off opening a new business account, as that business relationship has ended and switch out/remove the email address you want to use your PayPal email address to the new account. And just keep the account open/around for record keeping of old transactions until you don't need it no more and then close it. I do know the it takes a long time to update stuff like this for business accounts which could slow down or put your business operations on hold if the account is limited for verification and changes.

Thank you, that is helpful. There are no transactions as we never completed setting the account up when we were a partnership, and now I'm alone I want to use my business email address for my paypal account - the one that is already in use. At the moment I am using my personal account for transactions.

Should I close the business account and start again?

You're welcome.

Yes. Once you close the old business account, you can use the same PayPal email address, if you want, to open a new one.
