How can I delete my Social Security number and date of birth from PayPal's Records?

Recently I was required to hand over the above personal information before I could access my funds.  I thought this was just to verify me, but no - PP kept the information, and  I am NOT HAPPY about it!  PP said something about it being required by Homeland Security, but I don't believe that.  Apparently if I lose my money as the result of a security breach, then PP does not cover me for any losses.  I have no reason to believe that they will be any more successful at safeguarding personal information than Equifax, or JP Morgan, or the US Government, all of which have been hacked.  I want to use PayPal as a cut out, not as a stand-alone financial institution, and I should have the right to not share my personal information.  I bet I'm not the only one who feels this way.  So how can I delete this info from my account?

@ kernowlass : I clicked the link in your post and it does not say how to delete our social security number from our Paypal account (unless I somehow missed it). So, again, the question is: How can we specifically delete our social security number from our account?

Yes, if you read that it looks like Paypal now requires users to give up their personal information.  That was not true before 2018 or so.  Unfortunately they do not guarantee that they can protect that information.  I am satisfied with the service they provide but not with their privacy policies.  I guess the only solution would be to drop Paypal.   I might do that someday if I find a similar service that does not require you to give up your DOB and SS#.  If anyone knows of one, please post it.
