Restoring and old account

@PayPal_Nick - I have been trying to speak to someone from customer servce about restoring an old account that we no longer have the phone number, email or credit card number. Please help!! I've seen your very helpful responses to other people on here. Would really appreciate any assistance you or anyone else can give. We have been on wait to get this resolved for a week now!

How can I restore my account access? The steps you're asked to complete to restore your account access are unique to your issue. Often they will involve simply providing information to verify your identity, financial information or the merchandise you’re selling. To see what we need to restore your account access: Go to Resolution Centre. Click Respond on the case row. On the case details page, click Respond. Choose I'd like to submit the requested info. 'Drag and drop' or 'Browse' for the files you wish to add. Enter a description if needed and click Submit. Note: PayPal aims to review the information you provide within 48 hours so please make sure you get the information to us as soon as you can. Once we have completed the review we will send you an email with an update. We review information submitted for cases in the order it's received. If you really don't have access to the email address you used on the old account, to make it easy for you is to just create a new account with us and use a new email address. I hope this helped. Thank you for replying. I sent my boyfriend money to this old account and that's why we need access to it. I am not getting through on the phone lines, I have been trying to call since this morning and before the weekend. We are desperate, this is money that he really needs that I accidentally sent to his old outdated pay pal account.

If you really don't have access to the email address you used on the old account anymore, to make it easy for you I would suggest to just create a new account with us and use a new email address.

I am sorry to hear that you accidentally sent the money to your boyfriends account that he is unable to access anymore. PayPal is really very big in security. If the money is unclaimed for 30 days it will automatically be returned back to you . I wish there is more that we could do for you but we want to be honest as there is no other way since you mentioned he is unable to access his email also to confirm it. I hope this information helps. Hi. Thank you again. I’ll be honest coz I don’t want to waste your time anymore. I want to help you get through this especially at this moment and situation. But what I can do right now is to help your boyfriend recover his old PayPal account by a pw recovery. I can give you some tips and instructions on how he can do that. We can try that. Here’s the steps. If you can’t log in because you forgot the email address or forgot your password connected with your PayPal account, you can recover access with these steps: Go to Log In. Click Having trouble logging in? Click Forgotten your email address? Enter up to three email addresses you may have registered. If an email address you entered is recognised we'll let you know which one. Click Continue to log in if you remember your password. I highly suggest that this steps must be done using a computer or laptop. It’ll be a little difficult to view all the options when you’re using PayPal app. I hope I was able to provide you some important tips on how to get your money. It’ll be a little hard but it’s all worth it. I hope you both well and stay safe.

@GG928  I appreciate this. We've already tried that, and he only has one email registered on there, we do know the email address but he can't get access to it. The only other options are an old phone number he doesn't have anymore and an expired credit card that he also doesn't have. This has been incredibly difficult. I sent him $800 that he needed for his rent. I had to sent another payment right after to make up for this lost one, so I'm out of double the expected amount. I am currently outside of the US and don't know when I can see him again because of the travel ban. If you can arrange for someone to please contact or call us, please do so. I even opened a dispute online where I explained the whole sitaution and no one even responded, they just closed the case without even reviewing my comments.

Hi. Appreciate the patience. Just want to ask, what funding source you’ve used? If you used your bank you can contact the bank and have them stop the payment. If you used you card you can contact your card issuer and have it dispute it from them. On the other hand, if you used you PayPal balance your boyfriend really need to access the account so that you’ll get your money back. So what best we can do is to phone you bank or card issuer and ask assistance. I know that you are doing everything just to get this resolved. And I’m here to help as well. But to be honest this might be the best resolution. But I hope you get the funds as early as possible.
