Five days ago I wanted to download a game from Gamestop so I paid $15 through my Paypal account, and Paypal put a temporary hold on the payment. The only thing it says is "Paypal has placed a temporary hold while we're reviewing it. We'll contact you shortly with further information".
All I wanted to do was download this game and play it that night. It's now been almost a week and I'm still unable to download this game. I called Paypal's phone number and an automated message tells me it could be up to 21 days for them to take this hold off. I have plenty of credit cards and a debit card, and I'm now wishing I had used them from the start instead of Paypal. I would have already have used one of them after seeing this hold, but now I'm worried that if I pay for the download with one of my cards, Paypal will eventually process the payment and then I would have paid twice for the same download, once on the card and once through Paypal.
Paypal needs to allow users to at least cancel the order so that we can move on with our life and use our credit cards instead when they want to review and investigate. Don't leave people in limbo wondering if the payment will be processed or not. If you still want to hold the funds "for our protection", then hold them but allow us to at least cancel the order while you're doing that. This is ridiculous.
