The reader will not work if you have your iphone in an "Otterbox". Pin is too short to reach in through the opening all the way.

actually works fine on iphone 4 with otterbox commuter if the reader is plugged in perpendicular to the phone

Actually, even without a cover it does not work on iphone 4, but Square does work. The latest update of the paypal here software encourages one to use the "scan card" instead of "swipe"  feature, but of course that raises the fees one discoveres. Neither method works on my iphone 4 -- when the scan or swipe does happen (a miracle) it always disallows the purchase, saying there is a problem with the payment. It isn't worth it yet. Maybe someday.

It would be great if Paypal added compatibility with the many cloud printing services like Cloud Print, Easy Print just like Dropbox does 🙂

I would like to see a feature on PayPal here where the PayPal fee can be automatically calculated on the amount total that is to be charged. My account is linked to a non-profit so absorbing costs is an issue, but also don't want to overcharge for transaction fees either. A simple algorithm that gets the amount, adds 30c and divides by 0.976 (100% minus 2.4%) is all it takes!

When will the HTC one X be supported ? The device recognizes the reader -I can process cards manually (more expensive of course !)- but when I attempt to swipe a card nothing happens ?

OK, Here's the deal, I do not understand how this is so confusing to you guys.  You have accepted my social security number, I have sent my cell phone bill with correct address so I assume you have accepted that as well.  What I don't get is how you guys are unable to verify my photo id.  And where has all this name changing stuff came from?  I have had the same legal name for 36 years.  My full name as stated on my valid drivers license is <full name removed> and it always has been.  The name I use on my PayPal account is Josh McHone.  The name Josh is derived from my middle name Joshua.  It is not a code name nor have I ever changed my name.  I have always gone by Josh, once again short form of my middle name Joshua.  This is getting real ridiculous.  I am not sending in any written form telling you I have changed my name when I never have.  Once again there are people in this world that use their middle name as the name you address them by.  In this case Joshua is shortened to Josh.  FIX THIS NOW!

I just came across this forum's thread with complaints about the bandwidth-consuming Flash videos on the homepage. Apparently the only reply from Paypal so far has been: "interesting", and that was back in March. My experience on the phone was similarly macabre. I would like an explanation for the new homepage that does include mention of Paypal customers with older computers (in this case, certain Macs are even *more* sensitive than PCs) or limited bandwidth.

I just downloaded and installed PayPal Here for my Android Samsung Fascinate and I have two immediate problems:

• The tax rate only has two digits (tenths, hundreths) but here in Sunnyvale, CA we have a tax rate of 8.375% so I need a thousandths digit.  I have to put in either 8.37% and lose money or 8.38% and overcharge.   PayPal is based in San Jose, which has the same tax rate.  Can't believe you missed this!
• I'm trying to upload an image to use for a product, and regardless of image format or size, I'm getting an error something like "Sorry, we can't work with this image."   What sizes/resolutions/file types CAN be used?
