On the currency eschange note, I often have money sent to me here in Canada from the U.S.A. Everytime the exchange is done, I see it's completly off ( to Paypal's advantage obviously). I received 1100 USD and their conversion got me 1070 CAND when clearly the Canadian is above par, and has been for a bit. I think Paypal is a great service but when they do things like things, it makes me wonder how credible their services are. If they deal with peoples money they should reflect their fees honestly and not try to beat aroung the bush and expect us to just accept it( which unfortunatelly most of us do), I have no problem with that. Hope you got yout issue resolved 🙂

I agree 150% and it peeves me off that they(PayPal) take advantage of the USA vs. CDN exchange rate. I wonder if it would be grounds for a class action?

How come the exchange is blatently in favor of Paypal...it doesn't jive with what's indicated in eBay when we purchase the item...why? The rate used should be same for both ! i.e. for eBay and Paypal.
NOT satisfied with the exhange rate used at all...

Hopefully PayPal will see one of our posts and give us some kind of answer. It just isnt right. It must be some kind of fraud or something.

its a complete ripoff that paypal puts the exchange rate at anything they want and us canadians get the shaft. the canadian dollar all week has been above par yet there rate has the canadian dollar at 96.9. where does this number come from? how is it that other sites that deal with exchange rates go by the same days rate yet the biggest online payment company makes up a number in there head? id like an explantion to this very easy question? im betting all i will hear is crickets, shame on you paypal for **bleep**ing over good hard working people with your made up numbers.

Why has PayPal not replyed to these posts... I paid for a purchase today, where the exchange rate is $1CAD=$1.0072USD. and my exchane rate from PayPal was $1cad = $0.981305, which would have been the exchange rate around the 11th of April 2012.
PayPal - why the differance? Why are you not more up to date...

Its all around the world.
Im in Australia & currently our dollar is stronger than the US.. But when I go to buy on eBay with my Visa card... THROUGH paypal, Im still hit with a lower exchange rate.
it only equates to about 20c... But all the same. If you buy more expensive.. The difference adds up.
Its not fair or right.
They wanna charge a fee for the exchange rate, that's fine. But hey, Make it known!
Not be sly dogs about it,
really annoying thing is that paypal & eBay work together in this & there isn't an alternative when buying through them, unless you want to do a bank deposit! which can take days to clear!!
