Different currency in receiving and the currency in display on the balance

I'm receiving a Php currency but the display on the paypal balance is in USD. I'm really confused here. Every time someone sends me an amount in USD, why am i receiving in Php currency based on the summary but the balance display is still in USD, does that mean that the USD that was sent to me was converted to Php then it got converted again to USD that's why the balance display is still in USD?

I want to receive in USD only. How do i do that?

Your primary balance is your default currency (USD). Your default currency is used to send and request payments.

But to receive and hold USD currency in your PayPal balance, you'll need to set up a USD currency balance by going to the Wallet page, select PayPal Balance on the left, click "Add Currency" on the right. You can add more than one currency balance by repeating these steps to hold other currencies within your PayPal balance.

Currently, if someone is sending you USD and your local home currency for your account is PHP, then yes, USD payments will be converted to PHP and converted back to USD as it reaches your primary PayPal Balance in USD as that is the default currency of your primary balance and what you use to send money and request money in, if you do not hold a USD currency balance.

Note, that when you want to withdraw your USD currency balance, PayPal converts it to your local currency (PHP).

Are you saying that the double conversion is inevitable? Or is there a way to make my account receive USD only and the only time that the money is converted is when I withdraw? I never had this problem way before. I used to receive USD only and no trace of Php at all even on the summary. The receiving of Php instead of USD only just started now despite that my primary is USD and the Php currency is deleted long time ago.

Perhaps policy was different before and has since changed or you misunderstood but what's happening now is this:

- Your account is not a US PayPal account, but is Philippines PayPal account. So its natural currency is PHP. Can't delete or get rid of this.

- Your current primary or default currency is set at USD which is the designated currency used for sending and requesting money from your PayPal balance instead of PHP.

- To receive/hold USD currency (or any other supported currency) is by creating a currency balance for it within your PayPal Balance.

See how to do it in the solution post.

- Any withdraws of your non-PHP currencies to your bank account will be converted to PHP by your prior to withdraw or by PayPal upon withdraw. Opening a USD currency account at a local bank will not change this and will double convert your money, except perhaps if you link a US bank account opened on US soil.

- If you do not create currency balances for receiving currencies you do not hold within your PayPal balance, it will be automatically converted (or PayPal will ask, depending on your payment preferences of your business account) to PHP and back to USD as you said is happening. When you send money, it will converted back to USD as that is your primary currency (default) setting.
