I don’t understand what the hell is going on. The money left my account via echeque for some reason and finally cleared today. I can see it has moved from pending payment. However, the seller is telling me they never got it and asking me to raise a dispute and ask for a refund. The seller claims that their account is new and they are having problems login so they can’t check the share a picture. I’m started to feel like this me be some sort of scam but I’m not sure how?

Hi @kat152,

I'm sorry to hear your son can't access this payment, and you accidentally sent this as goods and services. You'll want to have your son reach out to our customer service for further assistance. You can find our contact information at the bottom of any www.PayPal.com web page by clicking "Contact."

Well you would have had it instantly if your son had sent it the correct way ie friends/family so not sure why its Paypals fault you can't get your funds more quickly.

As its on hold as you are a new 'seller' as your son chose to send it to you that way then it would only be released by Paypal as a goodwill gesture, they do not have to do so.

Your best bet is to mark the transaction as processed then your son may have the option on their account to mark the transaction as delivery/satisfied. If they confirm this by clicking on the "Confirm Receipt" button, the funds may be released to you sooner ie 7 days post verification. This is not always available or guaranteed.
If not then sadly its 21 days.

Well it was me who pressed the wrong button by accident not my SON. No I’m not new to PayPal over 30 yrs I’ve been with them. And how can you say PayPal will only release as a good will gesture!!! It’s my money I pressed wrong send button. You know by mistake… and it’s cleared my bank over 2 weeks ago and he still cannot access it. Maybe before putting anything that’s rude ignorant and not helpful you should read through first…

Think its you that needs to read, then you won't push the wrong buttons will you.

As for ignorance I'm not the one that doesn't know how to release funds sent via the wrong method, you are.

You chose to send it as goods/services albeit by mistake.

So Paypal does not have to bail you out but they 'may' do if you contact them and explain.

Other than that you can do as I suggested above to release your funds more quickly.

And.........you're welcome.
