I have spent the better part of the past week attempting to connect my RBC bank account to my PayPal, so that I can extract the money from my PayPal and use it to pay rent. Every single time I attempt this, I am met with the error message "We're sorry. We're not able to process your request right now."

While my bank account has been used to send and receive money from other bank accounts, it has never been connected to a PayPal account. The only one of PayPal's scant few possible explanations for this is that my PayPal name does not match my RBC bank account name.

The literal only difference is that my PayPal name includes my middle initial.

I have attempted to remove this middle initial. I attempted to delete this initial three days ago. Instead, PayPal used the bank statement I had sent to acknowledge I had a second address and did nothing to remove the initial. Must I add the initial to my bank account name in order to BEGIN the process of verifying this account?

Hi @MoriartyElias,

I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble linking your bank to your PayPal account.  Some banks will require the name on the bank account to match the name on the PayPal account completely.  For this situation, I would suggest you contact us to provide additional details.  To contact customer service, please click Contact at the bottom of the PayPal website for available options, or reach out by Facebook or Twitter.  I hope this helps.

Thanks!
