Costa Rica-How to fund PayPal?

I just opened a PayPal Costa Rica account and linked my BCR bank account but am unable to deposit money. The PayPal balance remains "0" and I have urgent bills to pay. Any ideas? PayPal has not replied to any of my messages...

Firstly you can't 'add' funds to a paypal balance in Costa Rica OR add a local bank account.

The only exception is you can add a U.S bank account to most other countries paypal accounts, this is because paypal is a U.S company.

Secondly you never need funds in your paypal balance as a buyer, if you add and CONFIRM a card (not bank account) to your paypal account then when  you go to pay, paypal will automatically deduct it from your linked card.

Thanks for your helpful reply... I was actually able to link my BCR colones acct to PayPal but turns out it's only for deposit purposes. I also linked my US Chase Visa which seems my only option. Question: does PayPal charges fees for using a credit card? I need to send $ to a friend in need in Panama.

Hi! So, you are actually able to transfer the money from your paypal account to your BCR bank account? Do you have a debit card or only credit? Grettings!

Hi, I recently opened a CR PayPal account but find it very limited. I linked my BCR acct in hopes of funding my PayPal balance but they tell me I can only move money from PayPal to the account and cannot find Paypal. I then added a BCR debit card but am still awaiting their approval. The process has taken a couple of weeks so far.
