HOw to add COsta Rica National BANK account to my PAYPAL account. ( NEw- July 2020)

Since JULY first 2020- BANCO NACIONAL de COsta RIca has no more Exclusivity with Paypal-

The paypal sistem won t let me add my IBAN Acount from Banco Nacional. Nor a Dolar no a COlones account.

THE paypal Web site says that I can not Add this US bank account ( cause this Iban code is not from the US).

SO I need paypal to tell me How do i link a Costa rican Bank account ?

I have the same problem. Paypal customer service told me that it is because the system is asking for additional verification for BNCR and they put me in a list for outbounds calls. I have 39 days waiting for the call. Paypal apologize saying that they have limited staffing, higher than normal of outbounds calls, and the phone lines are currently down because of the pandemic. Any idea that can help to solve this situation will be appreciated.

So you have an active PayPal account for CR!? When BNCR decided that only DImex card holder (residents) and citizens can use the service, they left my $ MC Debit card listed as a pay option. I opted to verify the account. PP put a small amount into my account together with a 4-digit code, which I subitted to PP. Now there are no limitations for any transaction.

Recently I transferred $500 to my US PP account, and chose to have debit card (MC) convert it. They took the $500 out of the account that BNCR has linked to the debit card without a fee, while the account itself was not visible any longer. In the US PP account, $22.30 less was deposited without any explanation. That is a whooping 4.46% less. Still worth it to me.
