Paypal and Axis Bank tie-up has ended?

Hi Everyone,

Today while making a payment, I received the message - my card couldn't be verified by the Bank. Now this problem had occurred once before as well and I resolved it through verifying my card by visa/mastercard on the Axis Bank website. When I got on the call with one of the Axis Bank customer representatives, he told me that Axis Bank is no longer working with Paypal and I need to check some other platform to use. This came as a very unpleasant surprise and he couldn't give any further information. However, the bank name is still shown on the Paypal website. Just wanted to know if anyone else has faced similar issue? Do let me know.

Edit: As I wasn't very convinced, I looked it up the matter online and found no sources and as a last resort decided to check with Axis Bank customer care again. This time, after mistakenly getting connected to a Swiggy Driver (I have no idea how this even happened), I asked the customer care representative to give me proper details as to - 1. When the alleged tie-up ended, 2. Why the PayPal website was still showcasing the Axis Bank logo as a partner bank, 3. Why there was no media announcement on the same etc. This new CR guy, after taking some sweet time said he did not have the details available with him and I should check with Paypal. Remembering how my last interaction had gone with Paypal when I had a similar problem, I had no wish to be part of a table tennis match with me as the ball. So, still not giving up, I tried another option of removing the card and relinking it on Paypal and that miraculously worked.

So Axis Bank customers, if you are facing a similar problem of 'Visa/Mastercard cannot be verified by the Bank' - try removing and relinking your card. It just might help!
