"Invalid card number" Error

Hello,

I recently moved and have updated my address with my financial institution. I went to update my credit card address with PayPal and it would not work.

So, I removed the credit card completely, and attempted to re-add the credit card with my new address. I received the following error "Invalid card number. Check the number and try again.".

I called my financial institution and confirmed that my address was valid, and my credit card was not locked.

I called PayPal, and the representative (Gene or Jen) said that I may have to wait 24 hours before the address updates.

I waited a week, and still it does not work. I have tried every combination of address I can think of  (apartment # first, street # first, etc).  I even tried my OLD address, and still receive the "Invalid card number" error.

I tried to add my credit card via the PayPal phone system, and it says my card is not valid.

I called PayPal again, and spoke with (Tai or Thai), who could not figure it out, and eventually told me to just get a new credit card.

I have a payment through PayPal due in two days and I don't have another credit card. This credit card works fine with my updated address everywhere but with PayPal.

Do I really have to get a new credit card to use PayPal because PayPal cannot handle an address change?

For anybody who finds this post via Google, etc --- There's nothing you can do. Nobody will help you. PayPal won't help you. Even if the problem is clearly on their end.

There are many instances of this problem occurring with other people (you'll find them via Google). You are one of the unlucky ones who will be expected to get a new credit card because PayPal cannot process an address change.
