I got a refund from a vendor, but the money isnt in my paypal or bank account.

I recently purchased something from a vendor, however the vendored realized that the product was no longer in stock while it was still displayed on their website. They send me back a full refund. In my paypal account, I see that the refund was issued, and it says status: complete, however my paypal balance is $0.00 and my bank account and credit card have the old balance (the same that it was AFTER I originally paid for the product.

This purchase was not made on ebay, it was directly on a website, through my credit card via my paypal account.

Any help with this?

I wish I knew.... I'm having the same problem.   The seller issued a refund for an item they no longer have in stock, and my account now has a temporary hold on it while Paypal "reviews" it.   I don't understand why they have to review a refund, but maybe they have to wait for all the money to actually transfer from the bank, which can take a week or longer.   It's frustrating.... have you received your refund yet?

wolfsowl, you hit it right on the nose!  Kudos for you!

When you send a bank transfer payment to a seller, and that payment is later refunded before the bank transfer completes in the background, PayPal notes that the refund has been issued but places it on hold, for exactly the reason you mentioned.  The funds just haven't finished transferring yet, so as soon as they do, we'll place them into your balance and you can use them as desired.

Thanks!

Adrian
