I don't want my name to show to others

this is a problem a few people seem to have but they have not received a reply. it is very simple and i am sure there is a simple solution.

i do not want anyone i make paypal payments to or receive paypal payments from to see my name. i just want them to see the email that i give them for paypal.

is there an option, a checkbox, that says "do not show name to others"?

why should anyone be given my personal information if i do not wish to give it to them?   this is an invasion of privacy and in my opion if i am not given the option to show my name or not, Paypal is violating my rights.  i like the Paypal service, but i want my privacy. 

please reply to this quickly. already there has been an issue rising from the fact someone received my name when they made a paypal payment.

I am a complete novice at this myself, but since there are no other replies, I don't mine sharing what I have found.

I don't know what account level you have, but I upgraded my personal account to a business account (free) and generated a test invoice. It only showed my business name and gave me the option of showing address and other information.

However, showing an email address is not optional--one must appear on your invoice for customers to use. My problem is that even though I have changed my email address to my business email address during my upgrade, I cannot get the email appearing on invoices to change!

thank you for the information. i changed my account to a business account and now to try out a test payment to see what information will be given to those who pay me or who get paid by me.  i notice i am still listed as the business contact name. i hope that is only for PayPal and not anyone else because no one else should know my personal name if i do not want them to.

I too have this problem. When I invoice my customers the invoice always shows my real name which I can change to my seller name if I want to. But I have to manually change this every time. I would like to be able to do this automatically!

I would prefer to keep my real name private and also it would be more professional to use my business name, if customers see my real name they may not know what the invoice is for when it drops into their inbox.

Has anyone found a solution for this?
