Merchant account ID

What is Merchant account ID?? Is it important to keep it secret?

I told someone about my Merchant account ID and I'm afraid of it.

Is it different with Secure Merchant account ID?

A (Secure) Merchant Account ID is a unique identifier of your account. Similar to the email address, except a Merchant Account ID doesn't change. Giving out your merchant account ID is typically not necessary, but it's not secure information.

(Note for developers: this is the same as the PayerID as used in an Express Checkout integration.)
