Good day! I have a series of questions, please help me as much as possible with a clear explanation or instruction. 1. Can I cash in, withdraw or transfer money using a fake paypal name? (pls answer all 3) 2. If I upgraded to business account, company name will appear to buyers instead of my personal name, right? (tired of being scammed & giving out personal info 😩) 3. Is there any fees if I received money from a business account to my paypal business account? How much if there is? 4. Am I able to receive money even with zero balance in my business account? 5. Can scammers or hackers use my personal name for whatever their purpose are? Looking forward to replies. Thank you in advance.

Hello @mariebb985

Thank you for the post!

PayPal accounts need to be created with your legal name. If it's created with a fake name, you may be unable to add a bank, receive payments, or withdraw. If you upgrade your PayPal account to a business account, you will be able to decide what information is shared with the customer. There are no additional fees for opening and operating a business account. Transaction fees will be charged the same based on how the payment is sent. You can learn more about PayPal fees here: What are the fees for PayPal accounts? You can receive payments into your PayPal account even if you do not currently have a balance. Regarding your last question, in this day and age, unfortunately, anyone's name (even PayPal's) can be used for just about anything. If you're worried about the security on your PayPal account, you can add 2-Step Verification as an extra layer of protection.

If you have any other questions, you can reach customer support by clicking Contact and then "Call Us" at the bottom of the PayPal website. Support is also available through Facebook instant message or Twitter direct message.

I hope this helps!
